New immigrants how to quickly integrate into the local circle?
As new immigrants, how to integrate into the local circle quickly? I was a new immigrant 18 years ago, so I have some ideas to share with you. I did not speak English at the beginning, so probably my personal experience could help you a lot.
1st of all, what you need to do is change your mind. You need to settle your mind down here locally. So, e.g. if you come from another country and you come to Vancouver, you need to consider yourself as a Vancouver person, not your old city or old country's people. You are the new winner, right?
Don't think about going back to your old country. Don't think about going back to your hometown anymore. Even you can. So you need to bring your mind, your heart, not only your body here. And then my ideas, my skills, my experience, can help you a little bit. If you always think about going back to your home country or hometown, that will be trouble. You cannot settle down. You'll flow all the time.
You're on the surface of time.Unless you really have some business and something is going on in your hometown, your home country, you need to fly back all the time, regularly. That's another story. So if you are really an immigrant, and then when you're talking, when you're speaking to someone, you don't consider yourself a foreigner anymore.
